In this talk, I will present a brief survey of limit cycles of the Lienard system with emphasis on the existence of algebraic limit
cycles and hyperelliptic ones. In particular, I will explain results we obtained very recently including the upper bounds and lower bounds of the numbers of the mentioned limit cycles.

杨家忠, 北京大学数学科学学院教授，博士生导师。1964年生, 84年山东大学数学系本科毕业,97年以色列理工学院(Technion)应用数学系博士学位, 后在巴西圣保罗州立大学从事博士后研究, 在比利时L.U.C大学, 法国Dijon大学, 英国帝国理工大学和Warwick大学等欧洲高校做访问学者, 多次访问法国、西班牙等研究机构. 研究方向为动力系统分支理论及应用. 主持多项国家级自然基金项目和国际交流项目. 在 Nonlinearity, J.Dyn. Diff. Eqns, J. Diff. Eqs., Duke math J. 等学术刊物上发表约三十篇学术论文。
