Part I: It is well known that most problems in science and engineering eventually progress into matrix problems. This series of lectures will give an elementary introduction to applied matrix theory and it also includes some new results obtained in recent years. This lecture also includes perturbation and error analysis; the conjugate gradient method for solving linear systems; preconditioning techniques; and least squares algorithms based on orthogonal transformations, etc.
Part II: we construct optimal preconditioners for functions of matrices. More precisely, let f be a function of matrices. Given a matrix A, there are two choices of constructing optimal preconditioners for f(A). Properties of these preconditioners are studied for different functions.
Part III: we study the Bottcher–Wenzel conjecture and discuss related problems.
专家简介:
金小庆,澳门大学特聘教授,博导。主要研究方向是科学计算,数值线性代数、优化及金融数学。1982年于南京师范大学数学系获学士学位,1986年于香港中文大学数学系获硕士学位,1992年于香港大学数学系获博士学位。毕业后一直在澳门大学从事教学和科研工作,获得澳门大学学术研究奖、长期服务奖等,担任东亚工业与应用数学学会(EASIAM)主席,中国工业与应用数学学会和中国数学会计算数学学会理事等。
